Mortlach Saskatoon Berry Festival

Over 5,000 people congregate to a small village in Saskatchewan for pies, contests, shopping, and more.

Challenge

To improve and expand the Berry Festival's reach and coverage on social media.

The Mortlach Community and Agricultural Society (who host the Berry Festival) approached us to manage their social media presence with the aim to increase their revenue and attendance.

We took over their public relations and marketing efforts, creating a unified brand for the Berry Festival, and improving revenue through reach on Facebook.

From the beginning, we designed a brand for the Berry Festival, creating a unified, fun, and approachable design that was appealing to families. We targeted all of Saskatchewan at first, reaching tens of thousands of people, and then narrowed down our efforts as the date got closer. By June, we were only targeting the communities of Moose Jaw, Regina, and Swift Current (a combined population of just over 300,000).

The Berry Festival had record numbers of people (over 5,000 people from around the province and even country), and reached over 40,000 screens on a budget of $1000. They had increased sales, and sold out of saskatoon berry pies within an hour of being open.
